Victor Daniels (1899 - 1955) used the screen name of Chief Thunder Cloud and did scores of films, including the role of 'Tonto' in THE LONE RANGER (Republic, 1938) and THE LONE RANGER RIDES AGAIN (Republic, 1939) cliffhangers. He was also a brief member of Monogram's Trail Blazers trio series.

In later years, he worked at Ray 'Crash' Corrigan's Corriganville Movie Ranch.

His film career began in the 1930s and he continued working up to his death in 1955 from shock after surgery for stomach cancer.

His last film was THE SEARCHERS (1956) which starred John Wayne.

On his January 12, 1937 Social Security application, Daniels lists himself as Cherokee. There were several variations of his screen name - Chief Thunder Cloud, Thunder-Cloud, or Thundercloud.

The pressbook cover from MURDER ON THE YUKON (Monogram, 1940) shows Chief Thunder Cloud pouncing on Renfrew star James Newill.  Note that he's listed third as Chief (Geronimo) Thundercloud.  The 'Geronimo' reference and tie-in was to Daniels portrayal of the Apache Indian chief in GERONIMO (Paramount, 1939).

In KING OF THE STALLIONS (Monogram, 1942), Daniels is billed as "Chief Tonto Thundercloud".
