Above and below --- 1954 at the Buck Lake Ranch with singing cowboy Tex Ritter.  The photo above includes the Red Birds, the Lester Bricker Family from Geneva, Indiana, and a bunch of kids who just wanted to be in the picture.  The Red Birds recall that Ritter sang and played his guitar and was the ultimate gentleman, soft spoken and unflappable.  He also brought his horse White Flash with him (and the hoss happened to have a "Nature's Call" while on stage).

Above, Smiley Burnette is playing his accordion and entertaining with a couple of the Red Birds --- Joe Taylor shown on guitar and Bill Allen on bass fiddle, circa 1953 or 1954 at Buck Lake Ranch.  Smiley sang and did his "Frog Millhouse" characterization from his movie days.
