Wilsey at an exhibitors meeting circa 1927
(associated with the Pathé Company/Pathé Exchange)

Above from left to right are Bill Cody, an unidentified man, Wally Wales, and Jay Wilsey is kneeling. This was probably taken sometime in the mid 1920s during an exhibitor/distributor get-together. The back of this still has a notation of "Jean Brainerd Okla City" which may be the unidentified man. Wilsey's early silents for Lester F. Scott, Jr.'s Action Pictures were distributed by Weiss Brothers - Artclass and beginning in 1926, Pathé Exchange handled the westerns. In addition to Wilsey, Wally Wales was also starring in a series for Scott and Action Pictures. Circa 1927, Bill Cody also did a few silents for Pathe.

Above from left to right are Bill Cody, Wally Wales, an unidentified gent, Wilsey and Walter Miller. The back of this still has a notation of "Ford Dallas" which may relate to the unknown man in the center. Notice Wilsey's height compared to Cody and Wales. Walter Miller (above right) was the hero to serial queen Allene Ray in ten Pathe cliffhangers during 1925 - 1929.

Above are a gazillion men with suits - many with straw hats - at some unidentified event. A crop/blowup is below with Wilsey on the right. And the man with dark suit looks like Cecil B. DeMille. Pay attention to the faces on the right and left of Wilsey - they're both shown in the above photos of Cody, Wilsey, Wales, etc.

In looking at my super-sized scan of the original photo, the only movie performer I was able to spot was Wilsey. Some of the Lester F. Scott, Jr./Action Pictures with Wilsey were handled by the Pathé Exchange. And some of DeMille's work in the late 1920s was also distributed by Pathé. Perhaps this and the above photos are from a Pathe distributor/exchange outing circa 1927 or so.

Buffalo Bill, Jr. and the Bathing Beauties

Above is another interesting photo from the Wilsey Family archives and this lineup has to be the Mack Sennett Bathing Beauties circa mid to late 1920s, probably during a meeting with exhibitors/distributors. The Bathing Beauties films were distributed by Pathe. Ye Old Corral webmaster added the white area with the names under this image - those names were listed on the back of the photo. The man identified as "Sol Sachs" and "Dallas" may have been a Texas film distributor from that period. Did you catch future A film actress Carole Lombard in the center?

Above is another Bathing Beauties photo with two additional faces (actor/director/producer Monty Banks and Madeline Hurlock, who was a 1925 WAMPAS Baby Star). Ye Old Corral webmaster added the white area with the names under the image - those names were listed on the back of the photo.
