Above, lawman Jack Kirk and Max Terhune in a scene from GUNSMOKE RANCH (Republic, 1937), one of the early Three Mesquiteers' adventures. Kirk and Terhune were about the same weight and height, and Kirk doubled Terhune in several of the Mesquiteers adventures.

Above from left to right are Wayne, Louise Brooks, Terhune and Corrigan in this publicity still from OVERLAND STAGE RAIDERS (1938). Brooks was a full-fledged star and femme fatale in Hollywood silents and early talkies, but this Mesquiteers film would be her last picture.

In this film, Farnum strikes gold and sends for his Three Mesquiteers' friends to help him against crooked mayor Leroy Mason and gang. Farnum and his young daughter are killed in a wagon wreck.
