Horse #5 - the next horse variation closely resembles Flashlight, the hoss Tyler rode at FBO. But it doesn't match exactly - this animal is dark, with a long face blaze and white socks on both rear legs.

This horse is easy to spot as the face blaze has some "zig zags" near the left eye.

On the left is a crop from a lobby card from CHEYENNE RIDES AGAIN (Victory, 1937).

Other films with Tyler atop this steed include: PHANTOM OF THE RANGE (Victory, 1936), RIP ROARIN' BUCKAROO (Victory, 1936), THE FEUD OF THE TRAIL (Victory, 1937), and BROTHERS OF THE WEST (Victory, 1937).

Above -Tom and his trusty steed get ready for the start of the Cattlemen's Convention horse race in a crop from a lobby card from RIP ROARIN' BUCKAROO (Victory, 1936). Notice the white socks on the rear legs. And note the year being 1936 on the banner - this was another western with six-guns and horses in modern times.

Horse #6 - Tyler also rode what looks like a palomino in films like RIO RATTLER (Reliable, 1935), ORPHAN OF THE PECOS (Victory, 1937) and LOST RANCH (Victory, 1937). The two photos above are from ORPHAN OF THE PECOS (Victory, 1937).

During his series at Reliable, Tom also rode a white horse - for example, in RIO RATTLER (Reliable, 1935), he rides Jack Perrin's Starlight.

Appears that Tyler owned that Palomino. Above is a publicity still from his 1937 tour headlining the Wallace Bros. circus and tradepapers indicate his first appearance with the show was in Tomahawk, Wisconsin in July, 1937.

Take a look at the rein, bridle, breast collar and saddle on his circus horse and compare to the photos above of Tom's horse in the ORPHAN OF THE PECOS stills. Same tack in all three photos.

Horse #7 - the above publicity still is from Tom's days at Republic in the Three Mesquiteers series. Based on that mark on the horse's neck and black dot by the right eye, this is Silver (Silver Chief) which was the horse used in the two Lone Ranger chapterplays.

Above, from L-to-R are Bob Steele (on Zane), Jimmie Dodd (on a rental/studio hoss) and Tom Tyler (on Silver / Silver Chief) during their days as the last team of actors to portray the Three Mesquiteers during the final season of releases in 1942-43.
